TypeSnap's privacy policy. TL;DR: I don't collect any data.

TypeSnap is built on a simple principle: your data is yours. This policy explains what that means in practice.
What I Collect
Nothing.
TypeSnap does not collect, transmit, or store any user data. There are no servers, no analytics, no tracking, no accounts.
Your snippets are stored locally on your Mac in the following location:
~/Library/Application Support/TypeSnap/
iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you enable iCloud sync in TypeSnap’s preferences:
- Your snippets are stored in your iCloud Drive
- Apple’s iCloud privacy policy applies
- I never see this data - it goes directly from your Mac to your iCloud
App Store Analytics
If you download TypeSnap from the Mac App Store, Apple may collect anonymized analytics about downloads and crashes. This is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, not mine. I receive only aggregated, anonymized data (e.g., “X downloads this week”).
You can opt out of sharing analytics with developers in your Mac’s System Settings.
Third-Party Services
TypeSnap does not integrate with any third-party services. There are no:
- Analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel)
- Crash reporting services (no Sentry, Crashlytics)
- Advertising networks
- Social media trackers
This Website
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-focused and does not use cookies or track individual users. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for details.
Data Security
Your snippets are stored as plain JSON files on your Mac. macOS’s built-in security features (FileVault, Gatekeeper, sandboxing) protect your data.
If you enable iCloud sync, your data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Apple’s encryption.
Children’s Privacy
TypeSnap does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since I collect no data, there is no children’s data to protect.
Changes to This Policy
I may update this privacy policy from time to time. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
